Children
Skin problems do occur in children and there are some skin problems which are specific and/or more common in childhood. Furthermore, in choosing skin care products, it is important to consider their suitability for children. For instance, in infants less than 6 months, the use of sunscreen is best avoided if possible. Given the higher surface-area to body weight ratio compared with older children and adults, this will increase the chance of exposure to chemicals in sunscreens - with a greater risk of unwanted reactions. Thus in this age group, sun protection behaviour is more appropriate.
We have carefully chosen products which are suitable for use in children, providing specific guidance on the age-ranges the products can be used on.
